Why should my identity be defined by a series of numbers and labels, trapped by perceptions of what each one means? Age, weight, title, income, marital status...these are questions on a form, not measures of one's possibilities or potential.
A shift of perspective is needed...new measures of success, such as,
The amount of energy I feel when I treat my body with care
The amount of generosity, patience and understanding I have with others
The amount of positive change I bring to the world through my efforts
The amount of love that I give and receive
The number of happy memories and joyful moments in my life
The number of challenges I"ve overcome and lessons I"ve learned along my path
The amount of gratitude I show for all of the blessings I have been given
These are the true measures of success. With these, I know I am timeless, I am limitless, I am exactly who and where I'm supposed to be.

A touch of glass
Vacation was the perfect time to explore some new creative mediums. So, Mom and I took a class in dichroic glass at Port A Glass (www.portaglass.com) in Port Aransas, TX. The owner, Sheri Hargrove, was wonderful. She walked us through all of the steps and then had us roll up our sleeves and start creating. With her guidance, even my mom who was nervous about being able to do this felt confident and had fun. The glass was fired the next day and we were able to finish our treasures the day after that. It was a great afternoon and I'd definitely do it again.
